Do I need to call around to communities?
There is no need for you to call around. A Family Tie is here to do all the busy leg work for you! We meet with you and your family to determine what you are looking for. Following this personalized assessment, we match communities to your needs and desires and assist you throughout the discovery process.
Does Medicare cover the cost of Assisted Living?
Medicare does not cover the costs associated with a senior living community. Home Care, independent living, assisted living and dementia care are all private pay. Long term care insurance can cover some, if not all the costs of assisted Living and dementia care - depending on your policy.
The good news is, Medicare does cover the short term rehabilitation needs after a qualifying incident.
What is the difference between Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing Care?
Assisted Living provides support for those who need help with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, medication management, and more in a residential setting.
Skilled Nursing Care is a medically focused model which provides clinical support for more complex needs such as ventilators, feeding tubes, intravenous medications, wound care and more.
How do you get paid if this is a NO COST service for my family?
A Family Tie partners with senior living communities in DC, MD and VA. They compensate us when those we serve either move into their community or contract with them for their services.
